We are very happy that most of the projects have now started successfully. We will also be providing you with significantly more networking opportunities soon.

SaxoCell® Kick-off meeting

On November 16th, we held our kick-off meeting with 83 attendees, where we presented the 12 projects and adjacent platforms in short pitches. In the breakout sessions that followed, the focus was on in-depth discussions within the four areas. We were pleased to receive a lot of positive feedback and welcome requests for more opportunities for exchange within projects and areas.

At the end of the kick-off meeting, we called for participation in our survey, and about half of the participants took part. You can see the results in our graphic below.

BIO Europe 2022 in Leipzig

The BIO Europe® conference series is Europe’s largest life science partnering conference and brings together thousands of industry representatives, scientists and other life science stakeholders. Next year, it will take place in Leipzig and SaxoCell® will be part of it!

Thomas Tradler, who was offered the opportunity to be part of the BIO EUROPE closing reception on October 28th, 2021 (video of the session) will be happy to answer any questions about collaboration opportunities at BIO Europe 2022 (thomas.tradler@izi.fraunhofer.de).

LION conference 2021

On November 9th and 10th, the Leipzig Immune ONcology (LION) Conference took place for the first time. Fully digital due to the pandemic, about 150 participants from clinical, scientific and industrial backgrounds met to discuss latest developments and highlights on specific topics in immuno-oncology. The meeting, which will be held annually in the future, is organized by the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology and the University Cancer Center of Leipzig University Hospital. The next event will take place on November 22-23, 2022.

Newspaper interview with SaxoCell® speakers

Stephan Schön from the Sächsische Zeitung contacted SaxoCell® to feature the BMBF Cluster4Future on the front page of the newspaper. So he interviewed our SaxoCell® speakers Ulrike Köhl and Ezio Bonifacio asking a number of questions, some of which evolved during the session. Ulrike and Ezio did a great job presenting the vision of SaxoCell® and explaining the structure of the cluster. Of course, all projects and their aims were highlighted. It was a nice and active discussion.
