The ECP-CAR project represents a longitudinal research program related to the phase II clinical trial to evaluate the additive effect of immunomodulation by extracorporeal photophoresis (ECP) prior to chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy to increase its efficacy and safety (PhotoCAR).

All meetings will be held via Microsoft Teams.

Technology Transfer Workshops

We are offering a series of workshop sessions on technology transfer and related questions. The sessions will be open for all SaxoCell® members.

Session 1 - SaxoCell® - How to transfer
26 April @ 2:30 PM - 2:30 PM, online
Transfer and innovation are central for achieving the aims set out in SaxoCell®. But how can you approach technology transfer on your journey? What should you consider? What are the rules of the game?

In a 2-hour workshop, we will provide you a compact introduction into technology transfer and related matters including topics such as Intellectual property, ways of transfer and contracts.
The workshop will be held by transfer experts from our SaxoCell® Innovation Hub:
Speakers Dorit Teichmann (TUD) and Thomas Tradler (Fraunhofer IZI).

There will be follow-up sessions focussing on start-ups and cooperations.

SaxoCell® Stammtisch

Dear SaxoCellers,

Since our launch in October 2021, projects have been in full swing and we have just met for our first project and area meetings. In addition, we want to offer you a less formal meeting: Our Stammtisch!

With this we want to meet online on Monday, April 11th, 2022 at 4 PM.

Subsequent Stammtische will then be held on a Tuesday in June, a Wednesday in August, a Thursday in October, and a Friday in December. We hope that this way everyone will get a chance to join in at some point.

We will start with a blank page, deliberately not giving any topics for it, and everyone is very welcome. Bring your stories and problems - from the lab or from outside. Let's develop this format together, just as we need it. This is as much an experiment as research sometimes is. We can connect and grow together.

Registration information will follow and we hope to see you soon.

Events – Retrospect

Saxon Transfer Roadshow 2022

On January 25th, the Saxon Transfer Roadshow of Future Sax stopped at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR). Part of the event was a panel round, supported by Saxon ambassadors of science, economy and politics, to discuss the future of Saxony as an international location for Life Sciences.

At this panel, our coordinator Dr. Maren Henneken presented SaxoCell® as a cluster for precision therapy and as such being a consequent continuation of the activities of the Saxon Biotech scheme which started 20 years ago.

One of the main goals of this scheme is to extend the local value chain as well as promoting the transfer of scientific findings in this field. SaxoCell® was highlighted at the roadshow from the local ministry as one example where everything was included to be successful.

DG-GT Hybrid Symposium "Making gene therapy a clinical reality"

At last week's DG-GT Symposium, SaxoCell® member Frank Buchholz gave a talk in Session 7 on Genome Editing with Designer-Recombinases. Additionally, he presented on Molecular Scissors for Antiviral gene Therapy in Education Session 2.

Furthermore, our SaxoCell® speaker Ulrike Köhl chaired session 8 and talked about the Clinical Translation of Gene and Cell Therapies.

The talks were received very well by the audience and were followed by lively discussions.

The conference held in Hanover was also broadcasted online.

Events - Preview

Martin Bornhäuser on 'Perspectives of Cell Therapy'

SaxoCell® co-speaker Martin Bornhäuser will present "New perspectives of cell therapy".

The talk is designed for popular science and will be held in German on April 28th from 5 to 6 PM. It is open to the public and will be staged as hybrid event at CRTD and via Zoom.
