As the year concludes and we approach the next application phase, we anticipate ongoing collaboration across projects and platforms. The Hub and speakers are committed to supporting your application process for the successful launch of Cluster4Future's second phase.
This year brought numerous challenges, strengthened contacts, and project advancements with exciting findings and top-notch publications. The Consortium Meeting in Leipzig was a highlight, facilitating discussions, project updates, and goal-setting. Internal events like SPARK Meetings and the Lunch Meeting Series explored cutting-edge cell and gene therapy technologies.
Our projects gained visibility through conferences, winning accolades like the Science4Life Award for xMac's macrophage project. Individual achievements were recognized, including Frank Buchholz receiving the UNIPRENEURS Award, and Paul Warncke earning the Harvard Scholar Award.
SaxoCell's presence extended to biotech events and conferences, showcasing at the German Biotechnology Days, DG-GT Theme Day, and BioRN. LION conference featured SaxoCell speakers Ulrike Köhl and Uwe Platzbecker as presidents, with Frank Buchholz delivering a keynote on "Genome Editing in Cancer Research."
In June, the BMBF future clusters exchange in Bonn facilitated valuable interactions. Training and workshops covered diverse topics, including clinical trials, RNA-Seq data analysis, and good scientific practice. The Creative Workshop Series and the SaxoCell Mini-Symposium on Preclinical Research Models provided inspiration and scientific insights.
The SaxoCell@TUD Pitch Battle in Dresden showcased innovative ideas, with Cancilico winning for their AI-based tools in cancer diagnostics. Public engagement continued through science lectures, exhibitions, podcasts, and participation in the Long Night of Science in Leipzig and Dresden.
