“Being visible": Interactive platform to increase the visibility of female scientists
As part of the BMBF-funded Prof:inSicht project, an interdisciplinary team from Munich University of Applied Sciences analyzed the visibility of women in science. Based on these research results, the project team developed the interactive platform “sichtbar.sein.selbst.gestalten”. Here, female scientists can find research-based information on how to shape their visibility individually and authentically. Based on the individual goals and time resources of the scientist, numerous recommendations for action are provided. The best-practice tips can be selected individually and downloaded in a clear handout. This offer helps female scientists to understand visibility, reduce concerns and develop strategies for creating visibility.
In addition, the platform contains tips on how the communication departments of universities and research institutions can contribute to the visibility of their female scientists. Workshops for female scientists are particularly suitable for a more intensive examination of the topic of visibility. These can also be booked via the website or carried out using the freely available train-the-trainer materials.
