Dear subscribers to
BUnews, the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering newsletter,
Starting in September 2026, the Administration of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering will undergo significant structural changes. The position for Public Relations and Communications, which has been located at the school level until now, will be phased out and will not be refilled.
As a result, the central service, coordination, and support functions that were previously provided at the school level for the faculties’ public relations and communications, as well as for cross-school topics and initiatives, will be discontinued. The existing responsibilities, structures, and personnel resources for public relations and communications within the individual faculties will remain largely unaffected by this change.
As a result of this change, the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering newsletter
BUnews will also be discontinued. Inquiries regarding public relations and communication should henceforth be directed directly to the respective contact persons at the faculties.
The discontinuation of these support services is part of a broader structural reduction in the School Administration. In other areas as well, restrictions or the discontinuation of service, coordination, and support functions previously provided centrally at the school level are to be expected in the future. Specific changes and their implications will be communicated separately in due course.
We regret that this means we will be unable to continue an established school-wide information and communication service, and we thank you for your understanding.
